You always think you're going to have more time. That was the theme of our summer, and there was always something that become a priority.
It started with a badger digging into the coop. Luckily, it wasn't concerned with the chickens, just the eggs. That was when we realized that one of our hens was trying to sit on a nest, and we also realized she was getting additional eggs from her sisters! I had to stop all other projects to get the coop badger proof, and that has been successful!
Then came the babies!! Lilac, mom, had so many eggs! I did end up getting an incubator to help because I didn't want to lose too many, with all the unknowns we had. While not all made it, we have 8 new additions!! And they all have different markings, but most hatched looking like baby penguins. They are the cutest!!
Before we knew it with all that excitement we were working on getting ready for back to school. This summer went fast, but it sure was enjoyable, and now I'm ready to get back to getting some more projects done!
